My name is Spooky and I'm a Miniature American Eskimo Dog. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my mom, dad, grandparents, a human uncle, and two furry French Bulldog aunts.

I was born on June 4th, 2011. I was the smallest in a litter of five boys, weighing in at 2 pounds 1 ounce. I look a lot like my doggy daddy and have his bear face. I went to live with my new Mommy and Daddy on August 2nd, 2011. I love my squeaky carrot and I love to chew, but only on my own toys and treats. I'm calm and a fast learner, but I can sometimes be a handful.

I was given my name for a lot of reasons. An Eskie named Casper is the biggest reason my Mommy and Daddy started looking for Miniature Eskie puppies. Casper's name fit the Halloween naming theme Mommy and Daddy have had for a while, but they wanted something original. They thought of Spooky because of the sign on Daddy's desk that says "Spooky" in glitter and because of a squeaky toy called Spooky created by Jhonen Vasquez, best known for being behind the cartoon "Invader Zim," whom they both admire. My name pays tribute to Mommy and Daddy's rat baby, Zombie, and Mommy's dog growing up named Duke, but who she called "Dukey." It is also in honor of my Mommy's grandma, who had a cat named Spook because it jumped out and scared Mommy. Despite my cute name, it has a lot of deeper meaning to my family.

I want to train my Mommy and Daddy really well so I can go test to become a Canine Good Citizen. I want to become a great ambassador for my breed just like my Eskie heroes. I want to have lots of adventures with Mommy and Daddy! Mommy made me this blog so we can keep track of all of our memories and adventures so we can share them with friends, just like Casper, and so we can look back on them ourselves.
